James Bell Obituary
James W. Bell, age 78, passed away at Hope Hospice in Ft. Myers, Florida on March 22 after a valiant fight with heart disease. Jim was born in Ithaca, NY and graduated from Ithaca High School. He spent 8 years in the US Navy culminating in a year in Viet Nam. Jim spent his career in college chemistry departments as an Instrumentation Engineer, first at Cornell University, then the University of Hawaii, then Hampton Sidney College in Virginia and finally retiring from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. Before his illness, Jim loved in the following order, family, friends, boating, fishing and shooting skeet and trap. He enjoyed a number of cruises with Alaska being his favorite.
Jim leaves to cherish his memory his wife Ann, his sister and brother-in-law Pamela and Howard Loveless, his nephew and family, Chris, Cathy, Matt and Kyle Honness. Jim is also survived by Dick and Karen Mason and their family.
Jim was predeceased by his mother, Helen, first wife Sandy Bell, brother Dick Bell and many friends.
If you wish, memorials may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Ft. Myers, Fl. 33908 or the South Seneca Sportsmen's Club, Ovid, N.Y.
Further arrangements will be announced at a later date.

I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing . My condolences go out to his wife Ann and family . He was a year behind me in school but also was a great buddy May he now rest in peace .

Jim and I played in refrigerator box forts as West End kids and played golf together again as adults. We lost a good man right there, Rest in Peace buddy.

Ann, May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Jim was a great friend thru the years from our time together in grade school. He always met you with a smile and warmth.

Dearest Ann & family,
I am so saddened to see that Jim has passed. I will miss him but always remember his visits to the office with a smile in my heart. He was truly one of my most favorite patients! My sincere condolences to all of you. Sending hugs to you Ann with all the love in the world!
