I unfortunately never had the pleasure of meeting Jim in person but after reading this, I did a bit more research and thanks to some of his "Colorado Classmates" and the West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG), you can learn ever more about him here:

I would have loved to have had that privilege of getting to know him!

James was a spark in a special family and his mother Ineze was in my Sunday School class until her death. My love and sympathy to the family in the loss of a great guy.

Linda, I am so sorry to hear that James has passed on. I still remember him well from our days at William Chrisman High School in Independence and am glad I got to see him again and meet you at a reunion a few years ago. May his memory be a blessing.

To Linda & family,
Condolences to you & family. I was fortunate enough to work with Jim during his M.W.Kellogg years, & experience his warm smile & positive outlook. Jim & I enjoyed a football season or two comparing his West Point Black Knights "against" my University of Delaware Blue Hens, over our weekly lunch. Jim was indeed a true gentleman & I will retain my fond memories of our time together.
Sincerely,
Russ Bonadonna, MWK Construction Manager

I am so sorry to hear of James' passing. I had the pleasure of spending several sessions at Bartle Scout Reservation with James as he attended camp with his grandson and Troop 92. I think I can speak for everyone involved with the Troop fortunate enough to get to know him in saying we'll miss his wonderful attitude, sense of humor, great story-telling and dedication to Scouting. His positive outlook on life and love for his family were obvious to anyone who spent time with him. RIP Mr. Craig.

Jim was a terrific friend and colleague. Bright, great sense of humor and so vibrant! We met in the latter half of our military careers, and sought each other out at meetings, training and conferences. My condolences to his family. Rest In Peace, Jim...you are missed.
