Soyland, Janet (Christenson)

October 30, 1936 - November 3, 2022

Janet was born in Hitchcock, SD, the daughter of the late Lyle and Adeline Christenson. Janet graduated from Tulare High School in 1954 and earned her two-year Teaching Degree from Huron College.

On August 12, 1961 she married Myron Lloyd Soyland Jr., and moved to Omaha. Janet taught in Onida and Sioux Falls, SD, followed by the Omaha schools. After raising her children she continued as a Teachers Aid in Millard, NE retiring in June 2004.

She is survived by her husband, Myron; children: ALece Tanner (Matt), Susan Porter (Terry), and Myron Soyland (Betty Anderson); grandchildren: Christine Webster (Grant), Michael Porter (Theresa), Kylie Tanner, Sam Tanner and Sarah Riedmann (David); great-grandchildren, Kaya and Llewyn Riedmann; sisters, Joan Farnham (Rolly), and Sandy Carter; and many nieces and nephews.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Saturday, November 19, at 11am at the Voss Mohr Cemetery at 138th and Harrison.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation in Janet's name to your favorite charity.
