Janet D. Williams (nee Bates), of Rockville, MD, was a caring wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She passed away on February 21, 2023 at the age 66. She was born to Richard and Arlene Bates on October 23, 1956. After graduating from high school, Janet continued her education at the collegiate level where she met her husband, Thaddeus Williams Jr. Together, they had two children: Alicia and Brittany Williams. Janet loved to travel and especially enjoyed cruises as she got older. She loved all things cooking, including exploring new recipes, spices, or watching the Food Network. She had a passion for mentorship to those around her and imparting her knowledge, regardless if you knew her for 5 seconds or for 5 years. Janet had a great sense of humor, a zest for life, and would always garner a crowd with her storytelling abilities about her real life experiences. She enjoyed using her intellect whether playing Scrabble, casual debates, strategic thinking, or problem solving. Her first love was her family and the impact of her legacy will ripple through time, hearts, and minds, for many years to come. Janet was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Memorials may be made in Janet’s name to Casey House (Montgomery Hospice)
