I miss my soulmate and husband every single day and especially at night. I am lost without you

My late father Harry G. Comerford was Chief Judge of Cook County from 1978 to 1994. During his tenure there were some substantive problems in the Court System. The brilliant Jerold Solovy came to his assistance and dramatically reformed the Cook County Court System. My father had profound respect and admiration for Mr. Solovy's integrity, character, work ethic and for his erudite ideas for implementing reforms in the Court System. Jerold Solovy was a an iconic legal luminary. God bless his eternal soul.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

I served with Jerry Solovy on the three judicial reform commissions that he chaired. His dedication to integrity in the administration of justice is what made those commissions so effective. His intelligence and courage were legendary. I always will be grateful for his mentorship and kindness to so many of us. Gary Johnson, President, Chicago History Museum

I met Mr. Solovy in May of 2008, when I was 13 years old, at Jan Schakowsky's Women's Power Luncheon. I corresponded with him via email several times before seeing him again at the 2010 Luncheon. He was a wonderful man that has helped me very much in deciding my career path. He is a great person that will be missed very much!

I was a young attorney at Jenner and Block many years ago. Mr. Solovy was a great teacher who supported all of us in our work for clients, both paying and pro bono. I was honored to have known him and I extend my sympathies to his family.

Jerry was a mentor and took me under his wing, some 40 years ago, in May 1971. I was a high school student at the UC Lab School and he let me follow him around. Eventually, I followed him to Harvard Law, clerked for a federal judge, became a partner at Mayer Brown, served on several Commissions with him, and now became CEO to two companies. Jerry represented the finest mentor one could have, someone who earnestly cared. It was his role model which propelled me on to a career in law and beyond, as I am sure is true of so many! He will be sorely missed. He was a true mensch.
