In loving memory of Jo Ellen Phillips, born on August 22, 1939 to Norma Lu Pau Dominy and Richard Herbert Dominy in Golden Meadow, LA. On April 5, 1958, she married her beloved husband, Charles T. Phillips, who served in the military for 30 yrs. She was a resident of Deer Park Texas for 50 years.
Jo Ellen was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, friend, grandmother, and great grandmother and an extremely talented seamstress and painter. She was an active member of the Deer Park Art League and sewed countless beautiful items for many people including the Deer Park Tiger Bells over the years. She touched more lives than she ever realized & she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Jo Ellen is survived by her daughter Jay Hammes, son in law Mike Hammes, her grandsons Derik Hammes and his wife Haley; Cody Hammes and his wife Stephanie, their daughter/ great granddaughter Abigail as well as her sister Norma Beazley. She is predeceased by her husband Charles Phillips; her mother & father Richard and Norma Dominy.
A private service is scheduled for February 15 th , 2018 at Forest Park Lawndale where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and many other beloved family members. Jo Ellen requested that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
