It is so sad to hear of Joe's death. My sympathy to Patty and his entire family. I grew up with Joe, in Bellwood, went to Roosevelt School together. I have many fond memories of those times, especially of Joe being a great basketball player. Again, my sympathy to all.

Dear Cousin Joey,
I too would like to add some other thoughts on what you meant to me: You welcomed me to your home when I was a teenager at St. Joes in Westchester, you helped me with the tool and die at Borg Warner when I worked there with you. You and I held a long conversation about our families pictures on the pizza parlor walls, and we hugged each after that talk. You are named after our Grandfather and like you I remember and cherish our large family as we were growing up. To Patty, please know that your loss is felt by many many of us, and that we too will think of Joey and smile because of his wonderful way of being kind and loving.

Our Dad was one of those special men
Who truly knew what life was about
Who demonstrated that his family came first
For his actions left no room for doubt
Our Father's greatest joy was his children
In fact, there was no faster way
To light up his face with an ear-to-ear smile
Than the mention of his own children's names
He preferred to discuss his children's accomplishments
Rather than his own
And loved to recall the sweet memories
Of his young children and how they had grown..."
So as we say goodbye and remember
Our Father's life...the man he came to be
He'd be happiest being remembered by all who knew him
As a man who loved his family
Dad,
I'm truly going to miss you. Words cannot explain what you mean to me. All the memories I will cherish.
Love,
Joey

Joe,
There comes a time for all of us when God calls our name to come home. He called you home to be with our family in Heaven. You are now with your mother & father, my auntie Mary and uncle Mike, your brother Frank, grandma and grandpa Principe, my father "Cubbie" and all of our deceased relatives. Please say hello to all of them and tell them we love them and miss them.
Rest in eternal peace and joy Joe. You earned it. I will always remember the good times that we had with our family both in Michigan and here in Melrose Park and Bellwood. I will also remember the good times at the restaurant where we shared all the things that were bad for us, i.e., the sausage, meatballs, pizza, french fries, pepper & egg sandwiches, and so on and so on.
Rest in peace, Joe until we meet again.
