Mr. Swann was such a sweet person...always smiling, gentle and friendly. He taught me in driver's ed many years ago. And then I saw him many times in the community and at funerals. The world is a little colder without this kind soul in it!

Gayden will be missed by all who ever met and knew him. He always had a smile and kind word for you and it was sincere. He was in the Lions and always delivered our collection of used prescription glasses for recycling. Just one small way he was always will to help in or out of his community. Margie, I don't know if you remember me or not, but I was in the first class of 7th graders that Mr. Swann taught at Old Fort, and also had him for 8th grade! I am so sorry for your loss and know he will be sorely missed there in the community. He was always so friendly to me when returning there to the funeral home, while he worked there; such a caring person and teacher. May God give you comfort and peace in this most difficult time and also to your whole family, as you continue through this journey of life.

Margie and Doris, I share your sorrow in the loss of (Joe),Gayden. We shared a rare friendship which was formed at McDowell High in the early'70's. His smile, soft good morning and warm conversation started the day for me and several teachers who had early morning duty.I looked forward to his warm, kind, gentle smile and his teasing remarks. I was blessed to continue that friendship not only at school, but with the MaCall/Kirksey Family(team) as he directed and performed at the different churches in our community down through the years. He gained many friends. I thank God, you, and Doris for sharing 'Joe' with us. I'll will miss him, but look forward to seeing him one day in heaven. God bless and comfort you and your family. Love, 'Sarge'
