Joyce Torkelson

1934 - 2025

Joyce Torkelson past away peacefully with her family by her side. She was a loving wife, Mother and Grandmother. Born in Southern California, she moved with her family to Modesto the starting of her Senior year in High School. She graduated from Modesto High School in 1952. In 1955 she met her husband Jerry and the two were married on April 22,1955. Joyce became a excellent homemaker and stay home mom. Her interest were sewing, crocheting ,reading, playing , domino's, cooking , baking Christmas cookies, she loved Southern Gospel music, Vacationing on the Coast and spending time with family and friends. Joyce was a born again Christian. Joyce worked at Empire Meat Company in the produce for 5 years. Then in 1981 she went to work for See's Candy in the Vintage Faire Mall for 15 Years. Joyce is survived by her Children Hank (Carla), Rob (Cherise), Marci (Jim), and Gary (Valorie), Grandchildren, as well as 4 Great Grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will take place at Big Valley Grace Church, 4040 Tully Rd Modesto, in the Fireside Room. Tuesday December 16th at 11 a.m.
