JUNE ISEMAN Obituary

ISEMAN--June Stern. Heaven has welcomed another angel. June Stern Iseman, a fourth generation New Yorker, died of natural causes at the age of 90 on November 9, 2022, with her family by her side. June was the embodiment of unconditional love, eternal optimism, and a source of well-reasoned advice to her family and friends. June was the beloved daughter of the late George A. Stern and Jane (Meyer) Stern. Her maternal grandfather, Edgar Meyer died on the Titanic. His wife and June's grandmother, Leila Saks Ranger, survived the sinking. June is survived by her sister, Faith J. Stern, sons David H. Iseman, James E. Iseman (Susan Iseman) and granddaughter Alexandra (Ally) J. Iseman and Ally's mother Laureen M. Palanza. A mentor to many, her grace, poise, upbeat personality and sense of humor attracted many to her throughout the years. She lived a sober life- style since 1985 in the service to others, and assured that her lifelong friends were well supported. June's legacy was a profound influence in the New York City real estate community. In 1980, she became one of the founding members of Stribling & Associates (now Compass). Finding her clients their dream homes gave her enormous satisfaction. At age 65, she began to play bridge, and in 2021, became an American Contract Bridge League Silver Life Master. An avid theatergoer, June developed enduring friendships with many artists and volunteered with several city organizations. She loved animals and adopted several cats over the years. Her feline friends ruled the household and she lovingly cared for their every need. Born in Manhattan in 1932, June graduated from Lenox School in 1950. She attended Bennington College in 1951 and graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in 1974. She attended Columbia School of Social Work from 1975 to 1976. Funeral Services will be held at Frank E. Campbell, The Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Avenue, New York, NY on Thursday, November 17th from 5pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, kindly give to the charity of your choice or WOOF Rescue, 14 East 60th Street, Suite 500, New York, NY 10022.

Dearest David, It was fascinating to read about your extraordinary and lovely Mother, her heritage, her personality, her love of family, her accomplishments (even late in life). And to think, were it not for your great-grandmother´s survival of the sinking of the Titanic, none of you would have been here.
May your Mother continue to journey well.
