Lessie Penegar Obituary

Lessie C. Penegar
Lessie Cline Penegar, 96, of Charlotte went to Heaven Thursday, June 2, 2011 after a brief illness. She was at Alpha Health and Rehab Center in Greer, SC.
Mrs. Penegar was born January 4, 1915 in Lancaster, SC the daughter of the late Bessie P. and David B. Cline. After living most of her life in Charlotte, NC, she moved to Greer to be near her family. In Charlotte she was a long time member of Amity Presbyterian Church and after moving to Greer was a member of Praise Cathedral. Mrs. Penegar was the widow of Wade S. Penegar. She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Guy Keziah of Charlotte and Ruby Lovern of Fort Mill, SC.
Mrs. Penegar is survived by a son, Norman Penegar and wife Linda of Atlanta, GA, two daughters, Shirley Whitley and husband Mack, Judy Albert and husband Herbert both of Greer, six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 6 in the chapel at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte with the Rev. Betsy Williamson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Amity Presbyterian Church, 2831 N. Sharon Amity Rd., Charlotte, NC 28205.
