Lorraine M. Brady

1927 - 2017

Lorraine M. (Doyle) Brady, age 89, of Scituate, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2017, just 3 weeks shy of her 90th birthday, at Cardigan Nursing Home in Scituate. She was the daughter to the late Bernard and Catherine Doyle; wife to the late John Y Brady; cherished mother of Diane Kelleher, her husband Daniel, John Y. Brady Jr., his wife Laurie, Mark Brady, his wife Erica, Beth Cunningham and her husband Craig, all of Scituate, and the late Debra Hoffman. Lorraine was the loving grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her 3 brothers and 3 sisters. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in Dorchester, Lorraine graduated from all-girls school. In 1954, she married the love of her life John Y. Brady shortly after they moved to Scituate where they raised 5 children and enjoyed attending many social gatherings together. Lorraine loved gardening, bird watching, spending her winters in Florida and summers in New Hampshire, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family would like to thank Linda and her staff at Cardigan Nursing Home for giving their mother the care and the love that she deserved. A funeral Mass will take place on Friday, December 1, 2017, at 10 a.m. from St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate.
