Marie R. Verrette

Marie R. Verrette, 81, of Fall River, Massachusetts, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Fall River Healthcare.

She was the former wife of the late Roger Ouellette.

Born in Central Falls, RI, on July 30, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Emilien J. Lapalme and Claire (Ferland) Lapalme

Marie worked at various places throughout her life, including Hasbro in her youth and later at the Swansea Rest Home. For a time, she sold Avon products. Many in the community will remember her friendly face, as she also worked as a door greeter at Walmart. Marie had a passion for music, especially karaoke, and enjoyed singing with her husband Roger and Bruce. She loved shopping at Walmart, but her greatest joy and priority was always her family.

She is survived by her children Michelle B. Jesseman and her wife Paula Jesseman and Tabitha S. Ouellette- Jackson both of New Hampshire and Michael B. Brennen- Marsland and his husband Robert J. Marsland of Tiverton, Rhode Island. She also is survived by her brother John E. Lapalme of Virginia and she was the cherished grandmother to Makayla Sylvia and her boyfriend Calam Valentine of Vermont and to Andrew J. Sylvia of Fall River and Kristine Cooper and her husband Sean Cooper and loving great-grandmother to Braylin, Adely, and Colton Cooper of Somerset, Seraphina Valentine of Vermont and Adeline, Amelia and Jackson Sylvia of Fall River. She was predeceased by her sons Thomas M. Ouellette and Bruce A. Ouellette, and her siblings Susan Lapalme and Roger Lapalme

A visitation will be held Saturday, October 18th from 9 AM to 11 AM at the Oliveira Funeral Home, South Main St. Chapel, 2064 South Main St., in Fall River. Funeral prayers will take place at 11 AM in the funeral home, followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River.
