Minerva Sosa Williams was born on August 15, 1926 in Aceitunas, Puerto Rico to Angel Sosa and Saturnina Hernandez. She met Van, the love of her life, when he was stationed in Puerto Rico while serving in the United States Army. They married on November 5, 1949 and were happily married for over 62 years, until his passing in April of 2012. Minerva is preceded in death by her mother, her father, her husband, son, Paul David, son-in-law, Steve Jones, and brother, Alaberto. She was a very loving and self-sacrificing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her husband, kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids more than anything else on this earth and would do anything to make them happy. She is survived by daughters: Brenda Jones, Bonnie Shannon, Paula Pereira (and husband Eddie); grandsons: Blake Shannon (and wife Katie), Bryan Shannon (and wife Iva), Brandon Shannon, Christopher Jones (and wife Stephanie), Matthew Pereira; great-grandchildren: Devan Shannon, Dylan Shannon, Farrah Shannon; sisters: Olga Pellot, Sylvia Pellot, Gladys Queeman, Gloria Sosa; brothers: Luis Pellot, Ramon Sosa, Justo Sosa, Angel Sosa, and many other loving family members in Puerto Rico.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 5PM to 8PM at Grand View Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be Monday, September 9, 2013 at 2PM in the chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
