Peggy Greene Obituary

Peggy Anne Greene August 3, 1946- December 12, 2004 COLUMBUS, GA— Mrs. Peggy Anne Greene, 58, of Columbus, died Sunday, Dec. 12 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road Chapel, with Dr. Hal Brady officiating. Interment to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. Mrs. Greene was born in Scottsboro, Ala., on August 3, 1946, daughter of Cora Ruth Tidwell Dodson and the late George Montgomery Dodson. She has lived in Columbus for the past forty-two years and was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church. She attended St. Luke United Methodist Church. She was the owner and operator of Continental Beauty Salon. Her two brothers, Ed Dodson and Charles Dodson preceded her in death. Other than her mother, she is survived by her husband, Dallas L. Greene of Columbus; two daughters, Renee Wilkinson and her husband Carlton of Columbus, and Tracy Henderson and her husband Mike of Phenix City; a son, Derrick L. Greene of Columbus; two sisters, Nona Holoman of Baytown, Texas and Linda Glassock of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Megan Wilkinson, Trey Wilkinson, Weston Henderson, Wade Henderson and Wellsley Henderson.

We are so sorry to learn of Peggy's passing. She was definitely one of our favorite people. Sid still talks about her boiled peanuts. We will miss her.

Renee and family, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. My mom died in 1998 and you never truly get over it as a daughter.(I was Sharon Davis we played ball at Northern-Diane Davis was my mom)Try to find peace and comfort among your family and friends.
