Robert L. Krantz

April 29, 1936 - March 1, 2025

Robert L. Krantz passed away March 1, 2025, in Yuma, Arizona. Memorial service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 26, 2025, at The Vine Methodist Church, 2002 4th Ave, Scottsbluff, Nebraska, 69361. Graveside service following at Bayard City Cemetery.

Robert was born in Bayard, Nebraska, on April 29, 1936, to Jake and Ester (Weber) Krantz. He graduated from Bayard High School in 1954. He then attended Milford Trade School, before returning home to farm.

Bob farmed for 40 years and sold cars for Cannon Brothers, sold farm machinery and eventually bought a livestock truck. He also drove a semi for Simplot before retiring at age 84. During this time Bob also lived in Hawaii for a year. He also was a part of the Bayard School Board and volunteered with the Bayard Fire Department.

At the age of 28, Bob got his pilot's license, he owned 5 different single engine planes. He loved motorcycles, dune buggies, and side by sides. He then bought a Can-Am-Spyder which he rode 250 miles. The last ride was just 2 weeks before he passed.

During his life, Bob rode in a hot air balloon, went skydiving, trail riding on his side by side and loved riding his dune buggy in the desert when he and Dorothy spent nineteen winters in Yuma, Arizona.

Bob was married to Jane Bauer, together they had 3 boys, Maynard, Kenneth and Walter. Later he married Dorothy Dotts and acquired 3 stepchildren: Kenneth Dotts, Thomas Dotts, and Beverly Bean.

Bob is survived by his wife of 32 years, Dorothy; sons Maynard and Kenneth; daughters-in-law Brenda Krantz and Lisa Krantz; sister-in-law Laura Krantz; stepchildren Thomas (Brenda) Dotts, Beverly (Tab) Bean; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother James, his son Walter, stepson Kenneth Dotts, and daughter-in-law Sally Krantz.
