Robert Joseph "Bobby O" Orgeron

1927 - 2023

Robert "Bobby O" Joseph Orgeron of Westwego, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at the age of 96. Bobby was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Asey Orgeron and Noemi Abadie Orgeron. He is the husband of Rosalia DiMarco Orgeron for 75 loving years. Father of Christine Salsman (Homer), Kathy Dzyak (Bill), Gale Martin (Roy), and Robert M. Orgeron, Sr. (Cathy). Proud Paw of Toby Salsman (Tara), Christopher Salsman (Kim), Jessica Morrison (Donnie), Joshua Dzyak (Nina), Katrina Dzyak, Roy Martin III (Aubrie), Rachel Deckelmann (Eddie), Holly Gassenberger (David), and Robert Orgeron, Jr. (Ashley). Bobby also survived by 16 great grandchildren. Brother of the late Virginia Barbe. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents and his two great grandbabies. Out of high school, Bobby joined the United States Navy and served during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Sable Aircraft Carrier. After his discharge, Bobby went to work at Celotex as an electrician. Bobby later retired from Ochsner as the Maintenance Supervisor. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 222, the Monsignor Wynhoven Knights of Columbus, and the Westwego VFW. Bobby will be truly missed by all who were lucky enough to know and love him. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00PM on Tuesday, July 18th, 2023 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 146 4th Street in Westwego, Louisiana. Fr. Buddy Noel will officiate the Funeral Mass. A visitation will begin at 9:30AM and continue until the Mass time. Bobby will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in Westwego, Louisiana.
