Robert Sholty
PEORIA - Robert "Bud" Arthur Sholty, 84, of Peoria passed away at 2:16 a.m. Sunday, November 6, 2016, at his residence.
He was born November 30, 1931, in Ferguson, Missouri, the son of Leonard and Dorothea McClaskey Sholty. He married Gloria Jane Ford on April 2, 1955, in East Peoria. His bride of 58 years preceded him in death.
Robert is survived by one daughter, Mimi (David) Garrett of Glasford; one son, Jim Sholty of Bartonville; two grandchildren, Jake (Pattie) Demmin and Amanda (Alex) Gilles; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Darrell (June) Sholty of Mapleton; and one sister-in-law, Ruth Sholty of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
Robert was a truck driver, last working for Bosch Trucking until his retirement in 1991.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016, at Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Pastor Jack Thompson will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
