Danny Sholty, 81, of Peru, died unexpectedly, on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
He was born in Logansport, Indiana on March 19, 1944, to John and Kathryn Sholty.
He had three brothers and one sister John (Millie) Sholty Peru, Terry (Susie) Sholty of Hagerstown, MD, Nyla Kay Webster of Durham, NC, and Bill(Connie) Sholty of Sharpsville, IN.
He graduated in 1962 from North Miami High School.
He joined the Navy right after graduating and served on the U.S.S. Georgetown as a Cryptologic Technician.
He married Joan Davis in July of 1966 and they welcomed 3 daughters.
After the Navy, he went to work at Delco Electronics in Kokomo, IN. He retired in 1996, after 30 years.
Danny loved the Chicago Cubs, and IU basketball and football. He loved Classic Rock music and enjoyed going to concerts. His favorite singer was Bob Dylan. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Danny is survived by his 3 daughters, Dani (Ralph) Ross, Tara (Brett) Engel, and Rayna (Bobby)Pack, all of Peru, Indiana, 5 grandchildren, Chris Ross of Peru, Erika Ross (Joe) of Indianapolis, Josh Pack of Peru, Andrew (Shiqi) Hyde of Greenfield, and Kaitlyn Pack of Peru; And brother Terry(Susie) Sholty of Boonsboro MD, sister Kay Webster, Durham NC, sister in law MaryJo Sholty of Waynesboro, PA, and sister in law Connie Sholty of Sharpsville, IN and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Kathryn Sholty, brothers John Sholty and Bill Sholty, and sister in law Millie Sholty.
Funeral services are being handled by Flowers-Leedy Funeral home, 105 W Third St., Peru. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday 3-7. A service celebrating Danny's life will be held Thursday at 11:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Deer Creek Cemetery 500S and 870E in Onward, Indiana.
