I was very sad to hear of uncle Sonny's passing. He was always such a nice person to be around. I can remember as a little kid how excited everyone would get when he and Josie were coming to visit, but some of my favorite memories are when they lived in Mobile and we got to frequent their house. It was so much fun visiting with them and their wiener dog. RIP uncle Sonny, heaven just gained a saint and I am sure mammaw, papaw and Josie were very excited to see you.

Uncle Sonny has always held a special place in the hearts of the entire family. Although visits were not as often as we would've liked they were endearing. Uncle Sonny & Aunt Josie always brought laughter & humor with them. Uncle Sonny would record conversations around Mamaw's kitchen table then tell us later what was said. We were all amazed & would get such a big laugh. Aunt Josie brought her pet parrot on a trip home one year. That bird had an eye on all of us! Every time I think of them I think if that bird!!
Uncle Sonny, I'm sure the souls of family members met you as you crossed into Heaven. I know that when our time comes that you will be there for us.
In loving memory.

Uncle Sonny and Aunt Josie have always had a special place in the hearts of this entire family. Although visits were not as often as we all would have liked they were so endearing. We each have memories that we will carry in our hearts forever. Uncle Sonny would record ALL our converssations sitting around Mamaw's kitchen table and then tell us what had been said. We would get the biggest laugh. He and Josie had such a wonderful sense of humor! It was so contagious! Aunt Josie brought her pet parrot one year with them and I still laugh everytime I think about that bird.
Uncle Sonny, I'm sure that all the souls of our family met you as you entered into Heaven. I'm sure that you will be there to greet us when our time comes.

I will never forget my last visit with Sonny. My children were young and he was so sweet to them. He called Josie up and sounded so excited telling her about meeting them. Another great memory was our trip to Texas on vacation when I was young. Your parents made everything so special, and we shared a lot of laughs. I know it is a great loss, but he is in a happy place now. Mother is not able to be there, her health will not allow. She is very sad that she cannot be there with y'all. God Bless each of you.

Sonny when he was in the Air Force. What a handsome guy! He was proud of his service to the USA.

Mamaw is welcoming another child to God's heavenly home. Her true mission in life was that her children know The Lord. Mission accomplished Mamaw. We will be thinking about ya'll. We all loved "Sonny Boy".

My Uncle Roy was a light in this dark world. No wonder he excelled at whatever he did. No wonder he was a professor, because he believed in people. He believed in me when no one else did. He treated me with respect, even as a young girl. He had a good sense of humor and a very pleasant disposition. I'll never forget his corny jokes and his favorite place to eat - The Greasy Spoon :) My father looked up to him, and it was easy to see why. I see why he loved Josie the way he did - she was very much like him. This world was a better place with him here, but he is with his life love now, in Heaven, celebrating the life they were given. I'm sure Josie was the first one there to welcome her Love. I wish so much I could have seen him before he passed. Just to hug him and tell him how much he meant to me. I'm sure he never really knew. I'm so grateful many times over that my dad took us to visit them as much as he did when we were growing up. I know it's because Dad respected and looked up to him as much as he loved him. I'm sorry for my cousins who did not know him. He was a model of a man. God rest his soul.

The family of Mildred McCreary (Sonny's oldest sister who is 89 now) is saddened by his passing. Uncle Sonny and Mom were very close throughout the years. He will be missed dearly, but we all know that he's in God's hands now. Sorry that we cannot be there for the funeral, but the family will be in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless.

The Hubert & Mattie Few (Sonny's Sister) regret the passing of our Uncle Sonny. Our family enjoyed many times with Uncle Sonny and Aunt Josie throughout our lives. Uncle Sonny was a good, kind, intelligent, humorous and loving family man. He also deeply loved his parents, sisters, and brothers. He will be missed. God rest his soul and blessings to his family.

My brother was a good person. I look back on our early years in life and recall our many adventures together, chasing a rabbit on ice mixed with a little snow(you can figure who won that race) going fishing, and picking cotton. Many more things pass through my mind. Mayralice will always love you, dear brother.

My siblings and I didn't have many opportunities to see our Uncle Sonny, but we know he seemed like a kind and gentle person. Our mother loved her brother very much.
