Ruby Eller Obituary

Ruby Jane Saunders Eller LENOIR Ruby Jane Saunders Eller, of Lenoir, completed her journey to heaven on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011. Ruby was born June 14, 1940, in Caldwell County, to the late John Donald Saunders and Thelma Gragg Saunders. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Saunders, and a sister, Loretta Suddreth. She graduated from Collettsville High School and attended Clevenger Business College. She was retired from Western Carolina Electric Company where she worked for 35 years. Ruby was an active member of Hartland Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving her Lord alongside her faithful friends. Those left behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 53 years, Edward Eller; one daughter, Michelle Eller Moffitt and husband, Jeff Moffitt; two brothers, Joe Saunders and wife, Connie, of Ellicott City, Md., and John Saunders and wife, Rachel, of Hudson; one sister, Lois Huskey of Forest City; and two granddaughters, Megan Jane Moffitt and Jessica Lynn Moffitt. Her granddaughters were the apple of her eye and she loved her family and friends dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Ruby was a member of the Arm and Arm Support group where she provided support for many battling breast cancer. She also volunteered many hours at the Wig Bank of Caldwell County. A funeral service for Mrs. Eller will be held Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at 4 p.m., at Hartland Baptist Church with the Revs. Matthew Grind-staff and Brian Smith and Dr. Steve Parker officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:30 p.m. today, Dec. 14, 2011, at the church. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews, Bob, Jeff, Steve and Darren Eller, Abe and Matthew Saunders, Kent Huskey, Eric Coffey and David Saunders. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Hartland Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Wig Bank of Caldwell County, c/o Caldwell Memorial Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 1890, Lenoir, NC 28645 or Hartland Baptist Church, Building Fund, 3730 Hartland Rd., Morganton, NC 28655. Pendry's Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Eller family.
