Ruth Taber, age 94, a longtime resident of Pasadena, TX, passed away peacefully in her sleep May 10, 2018. She was born to Edith Littlefield Perry and Elmer Perry on December 12, 1923 in Emmet, Kansas. After 2 years of nursing training, she married Arthur Taber and subsequently had 3 children, Jean Taylor, Patricia Walker, and Marcia Smith. She is predeceased by her husband Arthur and daughters Patricia and Marcia, and survived by daughter Jean, grandchildren Dustan Smith, Lisa Janak, and Paul Walker, 9 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Ruth spent the majority of her life caring for others as sister, daughter, wife, mother, and nurse. In her later years, as these esponsibilities eased, she very m uch enjoyed traveling, dancing, her i nvolvement with the Red Hat Ladies, and volunteering with the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce. Ruth was a generous and caring person who will be sorely missed.
Graveside services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Grand View Memorial Park Cemetery with visitation beginning at 1:00pm at Grand View Funeral Home in Pasadena. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the Covenant House, U niversity Station, P.O. Box 66330, Houston, TX 77266. -
