Sam G. McCall Jr., 79, of Climax passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015, at an Asheboro, N.C., hospice. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Thursday in Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Victory Junction Camp, 4500 Adam's Way, Randleman, N.C. 27317; Shriners Hospitals for Children, care of Oasis Temple, 604 Doug Mayes Pl., Charlotte, N.C. 28262; or Hospice of Randolph County, 416 Vision Drive, Asheboro, N.C. 27203. The family is being served by Forbis & Dick N. Elm Chapel of Greensboro, N.C. Sam was born in Richlands, Va., on March 30, 1936, where he resided until 1959, when he received his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army. In January 1959, he moved to Texas and embarked on a sales career that included the notable companies of Quaker Oates Company, M&M Mars, Inc. and Kimberly-Clark, Inc. During the early '70s, Sam became interested in real estate in Fort Worth and in 1972 formed the Sam McCall Company. His company became one of the largest commercial real estate offices in Tarrant County. In 1995, Sam moved to North Carolina and established C&S Distributing and a chain of lingerie stores with locations in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Sam was a member of Greensboro Shrine Club, Moslah Shrine Temple of Fort Worth, Oasis Shrine Temple of Charlotte, Oriental Shrine Band of Greensboro, and All Saints Episcopal Church in Fort Worth. Sam's family is one of the founders of Victory Junction Camp. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Ruth McCall of Richlands, Va. Survivors: His wife, Priscilla; stepsons, David Moon (Lisa), and Scott Moon (Diane); daughter, Nancy Adams; and granddaughters, Nicole and Tiffany Adams.
