She retired from the United States General Services Administration in Washington, D.C. in 1974, where she was a Senior Contracting Officer.

Sherry received a five-year appointment to the United States Constitution Bicentennial Commission of Jacksonville in 1976 and was the Chair of the Speakers Bureau.
She was also a devoted cat lover and managed to take in nearly every stray cat that ever caught her eye, including the occasional racoon or opossum.
Sherry attended Eastern Nazarene College (ENC) in Quincy, Massachusetts and was of the Nazarene faith.
She is survived by three devoted daughters, Cheryl Strange Morgan (James), Rhonda Strange Murray and Lisa Strange Weatherby, grandchildren Lauren Langley, Erin Pagan, Rob Murray and Alexa Quaritius (Jack), great grandchildren Andrea Bridgett, Claudea Bridgett, Jackson Pagan and Ashley Pagan.

I had the honor and pleasure to know Sherry as a dear friend. I had much respect for her class, intelligence and discipline. Also for her honorable history as she served in her parliamentary career. I enjoyed the many stories she told of her history. She was a good friend who was generous and kind. She will be missed. I pray for her family that they find peace and continue to remember her and have joy knowing the legacy she left behind. God bless her family.
