Terri Lynn Simerson Holloway, age 72, of Somerville, Tennessee, departed this life peacefully on October 1, 2025, at her home.
Mrs. Holloway was born on May 17, 1953, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of James Ward Simerson and Barbara Jean Branch Simerson.
She loved spending time with her family and friends, exploring new places, getting lost in a good book—and anyone who truly knew her knew she never missed a chance to hit the dance floor.
Mrs. Holloway proudly dedicated 32 years of her career to Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW), ultimately retiring as an Executive Secretary. Throughout her time there, she was deeply involved in numerous charitable initiatives and fundraisers supported by the company, including United Way, the Salvation Army’s Christmas Angel Tree program, and even played a role in helping MLGW win the FedEx plane pull—an event that raised funds for Shelby Residential and Vocational Services, benefiting children with disabilities. Over the decades, she earned a reputation among her friends and colleagues as a true team player, a reliable volunteer, and a dependable coworker. Her warmth and dedication forged lasting friendships that continued well beyond her retirement.
We remember her as a loving, kindhearted soul and a joyful giver. She was deeply cherished by her family—a true pillar of love, faith, and strength in all our lives. Her presence will be profoundly missed and can never be replaced. Yet, we find great comfort in knowing she is now resting peacefully with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, until that glorious day when we are all reunited.
Terri is survived by her husband, William Holloway of Somerville, Tennessee; 1 Daughter, Jennifer Lynn (Billy) Burle; 1 Son, Christopher William (Jayme) Holloway; her Sister, Debbie (Jerry) Wilbur; 1 Granddaughter, Karina Lynn Burle and 1 Step-Grandson, Cody William Cogbill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Ward Simerson and Barbara Jean Branch Simerson; her Grandparents, Nanny and Pappa; and 1 sister, Cheryl Ann Lindsey.
A visitation for Mrs. Holloway was Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel, 10670 Hwy. 64, Somerville, Tennessee. Services followed at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at 1:00 PM, and Bro. Mike Hollaway officiated the services. Interment followed at Memphis Memory Gardens on Raleigh LaGrange Road in Memphis Tennessee.
