Jerry Warren Wakefield

Jerry Warren Wakefield passed away at his home on November 4, 2025.

Born in Memphis, Tennessee on November 26, 1935, Jerry grew up in the community he cherished and graduated from Treadwell High School. Throughout his life, he was known for his warm spirit, adventurous heart, and the joy he found in connecting with others.

Jerry had many passions that kept his life vibrant—he loved traveling, acting, ballroom dancing, and running. His enthusiasm for experiencing life fully inspired everyone around him.

Jerry was a devoted father to Alisa Moore, Warren Hampton, Jerry Odell Wakefield, and Joshua Wakefield, and a proud grandfather to Kara Wakefield, Lorrie Fowler, and three great grandsons. He is also survived by his brother, Melvin Odell Wakefield, who fondly remembers a lifetime of shared stories, laughter, and brotherhood.

His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of curiosity, joy, and love for family lives on in all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at our West Chapel on Friday, November 21, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., with the service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Forrest Hill South.

Jerry’s life was full, his spirit generous, and his memory will forever remain a blessing.
