Terry Wayne Lail

VALE- Terry Wayne Lail, 66, went to his heavenly home surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 10 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He now has his perfect healing and is sitting at the feet of Jesus.
Terry was born on January 2, 1952 in Catawba County. He was the son of the late Ruby Mae Lail. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ransom and Lona Lail.
He is survived by Teresa Shull Lail, his wife of 45 years of the home; daughter Stephanie Lail McDaniel and husband Donald; son Andrew Lail and wife Melissa; grandsons Sawyer McDaniel and Jackson Lail, all of Vale.
Terry was a graduate of St. Stephens High School and North Carolina State University. He began his career in the casual furniture industry in 1977. Terry held several positions in this industry, including publisher of Casual Living Magazine. He retired from self-employment with TWL Marketing in 2017. Throughout his years of management and sales, Terry was highly respected by his co-workers and customers.
Terry was a member of Providence Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and a member of the finance committee. In earlier years, Terry was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, where he served as a Trustee, Sunday School Teacher and Youth Counselor.
The family will receive friends at Hickory Funeral Home on Saturday, October 13 from 6 – 8 pm. The funeral will be held on Sunday, October 14 at 3:00PM at Providence Baptist Church, 7618 Providence Church Road Hickory, NC. Officiating will be the Rev. Ernie Richards. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Providence Baptist Church Building Fund, 7618 Providence Baptist Church Road Hickory NC.
