Mr. Thomas J. Kolasinski

ANNISTON — Thomas J. Kolasinski, CSM U.S. Army retired, 88, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2009. He was born on December 8, 1920 in Winchester (Winsted), Conn., to the late John and Philomena Kolasinski. He attended local Winsted, Conn. schools. Then, after serving 30 years in the U.S. Army, he attended Jacksonville State University where he earned his BS and MA degrees. Additionally, he worked 13 years in civil service at Fort McClellan. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Chie Monica Kolasinski; two daughters, Mary Ann Garringer, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and Theresa Jones of Fort Wainwright, Alaska; three sons, John Kolansinski of Eatontown, N.J., James Kolasinski of Milford, N.H. and Mark Kolasinski of Savannah, Ga. and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be at on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Jacksonville. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Rosary service at 10:30 a.m. and concluding with a funeral mass at 11 a.m. The remains will be returned to Winsted, Conn. for burial in the St. Joseph's Cemetery family plot with full military honors. Mr. Kolasinski was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society, and the American Legion in Jacksonville. He was also a life member of the VFW and DAV.
