WILLIAM CROWDER AYRES

AYRES, WILLIAM CROWDER - born March 24, 1955, passed away, August 4, 2014. Preceded in death by parents, John A. Ayres, Jr. and Frances White Crowder Ayres Nelson; uncles Douglas Ayres and Terrill Ayres. Survived by brother and sister-in-law, John A Ayres III and Priscilla P. Ayres, Knoxville, TN; aunt, Constance Hewitt of Knoxville, TN; nephew, Steven H Ayres of Knoxville, TN; and uncles, Virgil H Crowder and William C. Crowder, Sr. both of Lawrenceburg, TN. Bill's great grandfather was Brown Morgan Ayres, President of the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 1904. The main building on the Knoxville campus is named Ayres Hall after the Ayres family. William earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Christ United Methodist Church, 508 Franklin Rd, Franklin, TN 37069, with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Honorary pallbearers: Dr. Virgil Crowder, John Ayres, Dr. William Petrie, Dr. Scott and Margie Gale, residents and staff of the Center For Living and Learning.
