Zonie Burnside Obituary

Burnside Zonie Faye Burnside passed May 12, 2017, at the age of 79, following complications from a stroke. At long last she is pain-free as she has risen to meet her Lord and Savior. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Zonie came from a large and loving family, The seventh child of ten. Born to Leslie "Leck" and Valuria "Babe" Donley. Along with her parents preceding her in death were two brothers Bobby Dean and Ed Donley, and two sisters Joyce Greer and Belva Kulifay. She was also preceded in death by her former long-time husband, Paul. Her remaining five siblings who will carry on her love of family are Elmer Donley, Paul (Lois) Donley, Mary Capehart, Deloris Barnhart, and Buck (Joyce) Donley; and dozens of precious nieces and nephews, and cousins. Zonie's legacy will be carried on through her loving children, sons, Jeff (Diane) Burnside, and Greg (Kim) Burnside; and daughter, Tracy (Burnside) Whited. She was the extremely proud grandmother to Chelsea and Danielle Burnside, Mark (Erica) Chronaberry, Lauren (Chad) Wamsley, Gina Burnside, Jake, Eric and Alex Whited; great-grandma "GG" to Samantha Ann Chronaberry and Emilee Eryn Wamsley. Also surviving is her special friend, Charles Allen, who brought Zonie great joy in their golden years. Zonie was first and foremost a God-loving Christian, an undeniably selfless woman, and a friend to everyone. She lived a rich and full life despite chronic back pain. Her spirit was contagious. She smiled and laughed a lot! The former high school majorette was a huge Buckeyes fan, especially the football and women's basketball teams. She sang and harmonized beautifully, played a mean card game, was an excellent cook, and she loved her sweets. She always thought of others' needs. May we all live more selfless and compassionate lives in honor of Zonie's life. Visiting hours will be held at SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. on Thursday, May 18 from 5- 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Eastview United Methodist Church, 1045 Ross Rd, Whitehall, on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. You could honor Zonie by making a donation to your favorite nonprofit cause or her beloved Eastview United Methodist Church, where she was an active member for more than 40 years.

We are so sorry for the loss of your precious mother, Tracy. But we're rejoicing in knowing that she's in the Presence of her Lord and Savior. No more sorrow, no more pain. Praying that gives you comfort as you walk through these days without her near to you. She was a dear, lifelong friend to my mother, and I'm so blessed that I got to enjoy her sweet company these past 20 years. Zonie was truly a beautiful woman, inside and out. With love & prayers, Lisa Logan and Ruth Ann Jones.

My heart is hurting so bad Zonie. We are more like sisters than cousins. The days of growing up together, spending visits to our homes for weeklong visits that remain such beautiful memories. Our plans for the Donley reunion together - making the flyers to remind families - you will be missed beyond words enough to write here. My love and hugs with prayers as you rest now in paradise. Kay Stanley (even both our names were unusual!!!) Smiling)

Tracy, I know the passing of your mom hurts so badly for you. You gave her so much to be proud of. I haven't seen Zonie in a while.......but I'm sure she was the same wonderful person the whole time. Love you so much Tracy. Tim McKee
