Arch McGee Obituary

Arch "Frank" McGee

NEWARK: A funeral service, to celebrate the life of Arch "Frank" McGee, age 68 of Newark, will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 6:00 PM at Criss Wagner Hoskinson Funeral Home, with Pastor Rhett Dudgeon officiating. Calling hours will be held prior to the funeral service on Sunday, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Brushy Fork Cemetery.

Frank was born in Newark, Ohio on April 28, 1946 to the late Arch McGee and Thayis (Householder) Vogel.

He passed away at his residence on July 24, 2014.

Frank graduated from Licking Valley High School in 1964, celebrating 50 years since his graduation this year. Prior to his retirement in 1998, he worked for Owens-Corning Fiberglas for over 34 years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Frank was passionate about organizing youth baseball in the Hanover area, where he coached for over 17 years. Because of his dedication and organization, there is a ballpark named after him, the "Frank McGee Ballpark" in Hanover. He was also an avid Licking Valley football fan. He enjoyed his beagles, the great outdoors, listening to country music, watching old western movies, camping, hunting, fishing, gardening, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his two daughters, Paige (Kevin) Bussert of Carroll, Ohio and Erica (Lawrence) Scott of Newark; grandchildren, Brandon Bussert, McKenzie Bussert and Kenleigh Scott; brother, John (Mileen) McGee; sisters, Linda (Brent) Dudgeon and Peach (Tim) Broseus; brother-in-law, Wayne Doyle; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step-father, Albert "Buck" Vogel; and sister, Beverly Doyle.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Frank to the Licking Valley Athletic Association, 1379 Licking Valley Road NE, Newark, Ohio 43055.
