Marvin Little Obituary

Little, Jr., Marvin P.
Marvin P. Little, Jr., a longtime resident of West Haven, died peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer on February 2, 2021. Marvin was born on July 25, 1959, he leaves behind his loving wife, Michele Domek Little, his cherished daughter Lisamarie Domek (John Arminio), Felix his beloved cat. He also leaves behind his brother and his wife Bruce and Judy Little. A proud Pop to his grandchildren, Natalie Faulkner, Jessica Faulkner, and Matthew LaRock. Predeceased by a daughter Jennifer Domek and his parents Marvin Little Sr. and Albertha Simmons Little. Marvin attended and graduated from Our Lady Of Victory, Notre Dame High School then attended University of New Haven and received a Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration. During his life one of his loves was football, he played for Ray Tellier Football-Kelly Construction Midget football, Notre Dame High school (defensive tackle #30), Nichols College (offensive guard) and The University of New Haven, Chargers (Tightend, #44). He also played semi-professional football for two years for the New England Crusaders (tight end). He also loved playing adult men's softball. The last team he played with was the "Fun Boys" often participating in fundraising tournaments for cancer. He retired from Red Thread/BKM as a truck driver. He was a "die hard" Raiders and Yankee fan. Anyone who knew Marvin could not help but be happy around him, due to his infectious laugh and smile. He was truly a "Gentle Giant", a mentor to many. He lived with dignity and grace even during his difficult time battling the fight of his life. It seemed he worried more about others than himself. He will be missed by many. Family wishes to thank Smilow and its staff, Dr. Jeremy Kortnansky, the YM Center at the Smilow Center North Haven for all the care and compassion they have given to Marvin and his family. A Mass celebrating his life will be held at St. Lawrence Church on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Located at 207 Main Street, West Haven, CT 06516. Social distancing and masks will be required.

Shelly and family,
I have read this Obituary of Marvin's atleast twenty times, meaning to add something to the comment section each time. How can I possibly write a few paragraphs explaing my condolences and memories of a person who is so ingrained in my History that I have to really search my memory to find a point when Marvin was not in it. From Cub Scouts meetings at Mrs. Turner's house till my own 60th birthday party, Marvin was there. There would be gaps when we didn't see each other but they would only be
" periods of time" not a disassociation. To be Marvin's friend was an amazing honor and I am just one of many, many people that feel the same.
To list the acts of love and friendship that he has shown me over the years would be an impossible feat. Almost unbelievable.. unless you knew Marvin.
Shelly and family and Bruce and family, thank you for sharing Marvin with not only me but countless others.
To say that I am a better person for having his friendship seems cliche' but it is fitting. I will miss him, forever.
With sincere condolences,
Michael, Nancy, Patrick and Megan

Marvin grew up a street over from us and we would play football in my backyard. It would be all the big kids vs Marvin and the little kids and he would still crush us. God bless and RIP. a great guy
