Robert was like a father to me. He was the male role model in my life as a child when I had no one else. He sent me to private school, taught me the values of education and being a gentleman. All the lessons I learned from him proved invaluable and made me into the man I am today.

Despite not sharing the same blood, I will always remember Robert Rice as a mentor, a friend, and a father.

So sorry to hear of Robert’s passing . He was a friend and classmate at Notre Dame . Enjoyed our 2 on 2 basketball games at the hoops in Fair Haven when we were kids.

Bob was a great friend to my brother Jimmy.
I came across letters from their high school years telling of the esteem they held for each other.
Jim’s gone, so on his behalf I wish Bob a peaceful journey to the happy beyond.
See you then.
