HENRY BATICK Obituary

BATICK, HENRY “HANK” Henry Batick of Knollwood Drive, Branford, Connecticut, died in his home after a brief illness on November 7, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Maria Cianelli Batick and was born in New Haven, Connecticut on June 15, 1938 to the late Stephen and Elizabeth Batick. Hank spent several years in the construction industry and was a proud member of Iron Worker Local 424. Hank’s career spanned many decades in the trades and construction industry. He worked as a draftsman for Sears and Roebuck; he was part owner of Action Steel Erectors of East Haven; a crane operator for Cianelli Crane Services; an iron worker foreman for Sheppard Steel of Hartford before he retired from Blakeslee Pre-stress of Branford, Connecticut. Hank enjoyed memberships in the Knights of Columbus, National Guard and was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Branford. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Andrew Batick (Nicole Maturo) of Branford, Connecticut; his daughters, Lisa Batick of Branford, Connecticut; Laurie Barnell (Doug Barnell) of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by one grandson Prestcott Barnell. He is survived by his loving sisters , Patricia Zandri, Rose Marie Rich, Linda Cosenza and brothers James Batick (Ann Cook), Paul and Linda Batick, Gerald and Maggie Batick; Hank now rests with his deceased brothers, Steven Batick, William Batick and Fred DiMartino who predeceased him. The W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, is in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 11th from 9:00 - 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian burial we be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 731 Main Street, Branford. Interment will follow at East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, Connecticut, 06405. See online memorial @ www.wsclancy.com.
