Virginia Kuether Obituary

Virginia L. Kuether

Stevens Point - Virginia (Lange) Kuether, age 95, passed away on August 26, 2018 at St. Michael's Hospital as a result of complications following surgery.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 30, at St Joseph's Catholic Church, Stevens Point, with a visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow on Friday at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Wauwatosa.

Until an accidental fall in June, Virginia lived life to the fullest, making homes in Stevens Point, Plover, Manitowoc, Appleton, Wauwatosa and Oak Park. Virginia was born on October 12, 1922 in Forest Park, Illinois, the only child to Elsie A (Elkins) and Walter P Lange. She had a knack for making friends wherever she went that remained close.

She married Richard F. Kuether on June 17, 1950. He preceded her in death in 1993. They made their home in Wauwatosa and raised two children, Susan A. Sippel of Wisconsin Rapids and Richard W. of Appleton. Virginia had a love for, and great deal of knowledge about fine jewelry. This paired nicely with her other love, shopping. She worked in fine jewelry departments at Kohl's and Gimbels (which became Boston Store) in Wauwatosa and then Lee Ayres Jewelry in Stevens Point and Krieger Jewelry in Appleton. She worked at Krieger's into her 90's. She loved babies' toes and marveled at their miniature perfection.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Susan and Richard (Judi); grandsons, Benjamin Sippel of Ossining, NY; Richard D. (Amanda) Kuether and their children, Natalie and Kaylie, of Greenville, WI; Robert (Carolina) Kuether and their children, Oliver and Emma, of Albuquerque, NM; former daughter-in-law, Diane (Rasmussen) Kuether; and great-grandson, Tristan Konkol and his father, Brandon, of Stevens Point. Virginia was preceded in death by her grand-daughter, Elizabeth (Sippel) Konkol and her unborn son, Benson Konkol.

The family would like thank her caregivers at Willow Brooke Assisted Living and Holly, her nurse at St. Michael's Hospital, for their loving care of Virginia. Donations to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers are appreciated.
