Doris Rhoades Obituary
Formerly of Hillcrest: Doris I. Rhoades, 86, died Tuesday November 13, 2012 at the James G. Johnston Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband, James R. Rhoades, Sr.; daughter, Jodi; sister & brother-in-law, Joyce & Walter Lewis. She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, James Jr. & JoAnn; granddaughters, Suzanne & Frederick Schum, Dr. Lori Ann & Timothy Kolpien; great grandchildren, Frederick, Emily & Kayla Schum, Stephanie, Sydney, Bryce & Alexander Kolpien; great great granddaughter, Leah Schum; sister & brother-in-law, Shirley & Bob Parke, Sr.; niece, Cathy Slocum; nephews, Walter Lewis, Bob Jr. & Cathy Parke, Mike & Linda Parke, John & Toni Parke; great nephews & nieces & her special "wee ones" and a "special 2nd daughter," Roxie Rueffer. She was an active member and volunteer of St. Francis of Assisi Church, and lead the 50 plus Club. Prayer services will be held Friday at 9:15AM from the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home 737 Chenango Street Port Dickinson followed by a Funeral Mass at 10AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will follow at Chenango Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 4-7PM. A heartfelt thanks to the United Methodist Homes for their love and compassion. Those wishing kindly consider memorial contributions to the Lupus Foundation or United Methodist Homes.

Dory was my mom, Jeanne Barnes's roommate in Rehab at James G. Johnston for awhile last winter. She was always so positive and upbeat. She was a wonderful person.
