Thelma Turk Obituary
Port Crane: Thelma M. Turk, 92, passed away peacefully Monday, December 5, 2011 with family at her side. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Gordon W. Turk; her parents, Charles & Beatrice Gibson; brother Edward Gibson; and son-in-law Gerald Christoff. Mom is survived by her loving children: daughter Shirley Christoff, Chenango Bridge, Linda and William Rowe, TN and son Richard & Donna Turk, FL; eight grandchildren: Deborah & Robert Turkewitz, Rebecca & Robert Polsin, Keith & Cynthia Christoff, Diane & William Longmoor, Karen & George Herrera, Kenneth Rowe, Theresa & Phillip Winfield and Michelle McCormack; 16 great grandchildren. She retired from Singer-Link and then she and Gordon spent their winters in Naples, FL. She was a member of the Ogden-Hillcrest United Methodist Church and the Chenango Valley Senior Citizens. Mom's pride and joy were her home and garden; dust and weeds were her arch enemies. She also enjoyed all types of needlework. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 12 noon at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson with Rev. Joyce K. Allen officiating. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 10am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing kindly consider memorial contributions to the Ogden Hillcrest United Methodist Church, 1065 Chenango Street, Binghamton, NY 13901.

I am so sorry to here of Thelma's passing. I worked with her at Link. She was a strong woman and she taught me how to do her job when she retired. Keep your memories dear to your heart.

I have fond memories of Mrs Turk's care when Roy and I were boarded at her home back in the 40's. God bless Shirley and Richard.

Shirley, Debbie and families, I am so very sorry to hear of Thelma's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I am sorry that I won't be able to make it Saturday, but I will be thinking of you all.
