I remembered Bill for the golf game and flight in the Commanche to San Diego. I never forgot Mike, what a great friend.

My dear uncle Bill, you are missed, loved, and never forgotten. Thank you for your continuous service in the Air Force. You were an awesome aeronautical engineer! The Lord has taken you and your beloved wife, aunt Millie, and has reunited you all with your son, Michael. Thank God for each of you and for being a big part of my life and others. Love Forever, Mendie.

A wonderful man, husband, father and neighbor. Bill was all of those things and much more. We first met Bill and Millie when we bought the house next door many years ago, for our daughter, granddaughter and grandson to live in. The three of them were accepted by Bill and Millie as if they were their own children; always caring, always sharing and most of all, always showing their love for them. Bill and I had much in common, in that he was retired Air Force and I was retired Army. I'll never forget our conversations regarding our military experiences, politics and our families. Bill had a heart of gold, as does his loving wife, Millie. They broke the mold when they made Bill, and there will never be another man like him. Thank you Bill and Millie for letting Diana, Amanda, JD, Helene and I be a small part of your lives. We will never forget either of you. May God bless you both.

We lived next door to Millie and Bill for 7 years. I have fond memories of Bill when my son JD was just a toddler, and we would see Bill outside and walk over to him and he would always shake JD's hand and say "how ya doing little fella"? He was one of the kindest people I've ever met and always had a smile for everyone. I bet he is looking down from Heaven and smiling on us all right now. You are missed Bill, but not forgotten.

The moranville family became neighbors when we moved to Vestal in 1973 when we had three early elementary age children, Suzanne, Stan and Dave. Our move to vestal started our long friendship that extends to this day. We quickly found out that we had a lot of common interests with Bill including love of family, country and sports. He was a true patriot as exemplified by his devoted service to our country in the Air Force during WWII and one of the most modest, humble and classiest person we have ever known. Bill and his family Millie and Mike provided us all with snowmoble rides (including Barry's mother) and airplane rides, a lot of golf and of course great food from Millie (she still does). Bill was an excellent golfer well into his 80s and once had a hole in one that we hardly knew about as he did not want it in the newspaper. He also had a great sense of humor as when a couple of years ago Suzanne asked how are you doing Bill? He replied "I got old" and he enjoyed discussing military history with Stan and Dave. He was always pleasant and friendly to be around and even when recently ailing. We all learned a lot from Bill that we will long remember. Thanks, Bill!
Our love,
Ann and Barry Driggs

I will always remember excitedly jumping up and down and wildly waving as Uncle Bill flew his plane around and around our farm house. We'd hurry to meet their family at the airport and enjoy the time spent together. Then we'd wave them off as they flew around the farm to say good-bye and flew far away. Love you always, Joyce

Since my inception to this family I found Bill to be the most kind hearted man. I loved his casual style and sweet disposition. At first I was unaware of his many accomplishments as he was not one to boast. When I did find out, I was sorry that no one had written a biography about him as I think his life and accomplishments warrant it. I believe his reception into heaven was most joyful as he was reunited with his only son, Mike. I will always remember his sweet smile. He will be missed by all those who he knew.
With Love,
Stacey Chartier-Grable
