Leo Hunsinger Obituary

Hunsinger, Leo Edwin, Sr.

Leo Edwin Hunsinger, Sr., born November 11, 1930, passed away peacefully in his sleep, after a long illness, Saturday, August 31, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Arlene Dorothy O'Neal Hunsinger and their four children, Patricia E. O'Brien, Kathryn R. Hunsinger, Leo E. Hunsinger, Jr. and Mark E. Hunsinger; grandchildren, Tricia, Bill, Michael, and Jeffrey; and three great grandsons. Leo was a distinguished Korean War Veteran, serving in the US Army. Having graduated from Tri State University, Indiana, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he came to work for IBM, Endicott, retiring after 25 years of dedicated service. He was a generous man, always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors, whenever needed. Leo earned his private pilot's license and loved to fly. He often said he felt at peace while flying. His goal was to purchase his own plane and fly once again, after recovering from his last illness. God granted his wish. His family will be receiving visitors at Leo's home, for an open house, between 12 noon and 5 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech Street, Johnson City, NY 13790, or the American Diabetes Association, 6390 Fly Road, 2nd Floor, Syracuse, NY 13057.
