Audrey Klym Obituary
Johnson City: Audrey C. (Vaughn) Klym of Johnson City, 79 years, went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, September 11, 2014, at Wilson Hospital. She is survived by her devoted husband, Eugene Klym of Johnson City; five children, Michael (Linda) Smey of Albany, John (Beth) Smey of Kirkwood, Jody (Hristos) Dimitriou of Johnson City, Thomas (Suzanne) Klym of Endwell, and Pani Matka BethAnne (Deacon Philip) Harendza of Binghamton; fourteen grandchildren, William (Heather), Joseph (Amy), Jason, Kimberly, and Megan Smey, Joshua Hunt, Pipinos and Stamatia Dimitriou, Mikayla, Jordan, and Justin Klym and Rachel, Agitha and Hunter Harendza, a sister, Claudette (David) Meredith of CO; a brother, Robert (Georgiana) Dillon of FL; step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Godchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Audrey was an active member of St. John Ukrainian Orthodox Church, singing in its choir, teaching religious education, and assisting in the memorial center. She was a member and former president of St. Mary's Sisterhood. She was a designer and draftsman for many companies, among them Singer Link in Kirkwood, where she designed the graphics for the Apollo Space Mission. She inspired her family and those she came in contact with through her artistic ability (i.e. painting, drawing, sketching and sewing). She loved singing and sang a solo at Cooperstown for the American Legion Patriots. A funeral service will be offered on Tuesday 9 a.m. at the Chopyak-Scheider Funeral Home, 326 Prospect Street, Binghamton and 10 a.m. at St. John Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1 St. John's Parkway, Johnson City, with Rev. Father Ivan Synevskyy officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Father Ivan will conduct a prayer service Monday 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Monday 4-7 p.m. Contributions may be made in Audrey's memory to St. John Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Mr. Klym, Beth, Jody and family,
We were so sorry to hear about the recent passing of your wife and mother. I remember working with her at the hall and she always had a story to share or a nugget of wisdom from her past. She was a kind and friendly woman and will be missed.
