Chodkowski, Steven

Steven Chodkowski, 63, loved husband, best friend, devoted son, father, brother and Renaissance man passed suddenly on August 31, 2014. Steven was the eldest born son to John (deceased) and Mary Chodkowski in Richmond Hill, Queens, NY. He graduated with a degree in Engineering from the Stony Brook University and received his MBA from Adelphi University. Steven was proud of his six-year service to the National Guard and was based at Fort Dix, KY, and Camp Drum, NY. Steven and his wife Robin of 41 years moved to Binghamton in 1986. He is a retired engineer from Lockheed Martin and work previously at Gull Aviation, Grumman Aviation and Link. Steven is an avid ham radio enthusiast (K2CZ & K2FIN) since his early teen years. After retirement, he became an accomplished artist, experimenting in many mediums. He also enjoyed web design most recently working with an Australian Artist on his web site. Steven volunteered for RSVP taxes, the Broome County Board of Elections and Ham Radio Club. He is survived by his loving wife, Robin; daughter, Jill Cory; son, Daniel Evan; son-in-law, Mark Berus. His mother, Mary Chodkowski; brothers, David, Paul (deceased), Kenneth, Thomas, Peter; and sisters, Maura and Elissa Dennelly will all miss him dearly. Steven also leaves several cherished cousins, nieces, nephews and most recently two great nieces. Friends may call at the at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., Johnson City on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 3PM-6PM. There will also be calling hours Friday, September 5, 2014 from 10AM until the time of the service at 11AM at the Northminister Presbyterian Church in Endwell. Burial will be in the Melville Cemetery in Melville, NY at 1PM on Monday, September 8. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.jfricefuenralhome.com.
