Barbara Eggleston Obituary
Binghamton: Barbara J. (Clifford) Eggleston, born November 24, 1941 in Binghamton, NY, passed from this life on February 27, 2015 after an extended illness to meet her eternal savior. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Madeline Newton (Non & Pop); husband, Ronal Clifford; brother, James Newton; her sister-in-law, Barbara Newton; and her in-laws, Reimel and Anne Clifford. Barbara is survived by her children, Ronnie (Kim) Clifford, Robbie Clifford (Katy Portz) and Kelly Newman; her grandchildren whom she loved and adored, Marissa (Evan) McNamara, Cody Clifford, Shane Newman, Alex Newman, and David Clifford; her brother, Robert (Joyce) Newton; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Newton. She also had many nieces and nephews, and her special friend Donnie Callahan. Barb retired from the Binghamton City School District. Barb made many friends throughout her life. Our mom was known by many for being the biggest "gallyvanter" around. She was always on the "GO". There wasn't a local diner that she did not visit. Mom loved BINGO, garage sales, going to casinos, and playing her numbers. Mom was an animal lover. She never met a dog that she didn't love or that didn't love her. Our mom is at peace now. Rest in peace, Mom. Until we meet again. A memorial service will be held 6 PM Friday March 6, 2015 at the McDevitt & McManus Funeral Home, LLC. 88 Front Street, Binghamton, New York. Burial will be in Spring Forest Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are by AEGIS CREMATION & FUNERAL SERVICES. Friends may call at the Funeral home from 4 PM until the time of the service. Friends wishing may make memorial donations to Scleroderma or the the Humane Society, in memory of Barbara (Clifford) Eggleston.

The one thing I'll never forget about her is her love for all animals, especially dogs! Big or small, fat or skinny she would stop her car in the middle of the road and stop 5:00 o'clock traffic just to get a glimpse of the beautiful specimen. I loved having her come to my sports events because no matter what I knew she would make sure I saw her and that I waved back even if I was pitching in the baseball field or lined up on the football field. I promise to play your numbers for you and that you will always be in my heart. To my mom and uncles I'm so sorry, she loved you all so much. She's in our hearts now and always will be. Ronnie, Robbie and Kelly: So sorry to hear about your loss. Barbara was certainly a very good friend of mine many years ago when I was a part of the Layton family. She dragged me to bingo games and we had a lot of fun partying years ago. She was a wonderful person, and I am sure will be greatly missed.

I am very saddened by Barb's passing and give my condolences to the entire (Newton/Clifford) family. Barb will be missed in this world but greeted by family and friends in Heaven. So sorry for your loss .. Barb was such a very special person to us ! lots of great memories .. First my bus driver she would always remind me ( I was ur first bus driver).. So very sorry to hear of Barb's passing. As a member of the Scleroderma Binghamton Support Group, she touched the lives of many. I will also always remember our chance encounters at the Clinton Street Cafe. Barb always looked so nice even though she had so many health challenges. May she rest in peace.

I did get to meet & know Barb through my sister and often seen her at the Nearly New Shop. She did have her health issues and did suffer, may she know have peace. It was so nice to get to know Barb RIP Mary Rundell Steenburg
