Niki Reynolds Obituary
Binghamton: Niki P. Reynolds (Vasilopoulos), 52 of Binghamton, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at home, following a 12 year, monumental and valiant struggle against Breast Cancer that she faced on her own terms. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter & Anastasia Vasilopoulos; in-laws, Don & Shirley Reynolds. Niki is survived by her devoted husband and life partner of 30 years, Jerry; her most precious treasures and lights of her life: daughter Alexa and son Michael. Also survived by her siblings, Dena (Terry)Trask, Mary (Doug) Whittaker, Elaine Vasilopoulos; her brothers, John and Jim Vasilopoulos, and many very dear friends, extended family and in-laws. A graduate of Greene HS, she worked at Singer-Link and NYSEG before opening her own retail store. An exquisite seamstress, she made superb, custom dresses, and highly sought American Girl clothes. Niki was the most caring and compassionate soul that has ever existed, always putting other's needs before her own. Niki was a truly remarkable and loving person, of radiant beauty, a sparkling smile, and wonderful personality. She volunteered her time, energy, and skills for a whole array of projects and issues. Niki's passing has left a huge hole in our hearts. She was the absolute core, spirit, and strength of our family. She taught us all the true meaning of love, caring, kindness, and that dedication to family is the only thing that really matters. It has been an honor, privilege, and a true blessing to have shared this life with her. She was a gift to all of us, and will live forever in our hearts! We wish to thank Lourdes Hospice for their care during her last month. The family will welcome friends & guests to honor Niki's life: Friday, Nov 30, 2012 5-8:00 PM, with a brief service to follow at: The Unitarian Church, 183 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, NY 13905. Arrangements are by AEGIS CREMATION & FUNERAL SERVICES, 196 Clinton Street, Binghamton. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to, may send a contribution for Alexa/Michael's Scholarship Fund, in care of 'The Reynolds Family', PO Box 200, PB School Park, NY 13737.

We are so sorry to just hear about Niki's passing. You are an amazing family and Niki was such a caring, special mom and person. I am deeply saddened to read this today -- my love and prayers go out to all of you. This is one of those instances where 'not keeping in touch' with very old friends and putting off to another time can be so regrettable. Niki was the kind of person that everyone wants for a friend. She was kind, caring and had a genuine warmth about her. I will always cherish the many memories and shared experiences we had while homeschooling and beyond. Niki, I will miss your warm and caring way, your sense of humor, your kindness and your amazing strength and determination. Jerry, Alexa and Michael,
My heart breaks for each of you! Niki was such an amazing person! I didn't know her a really long time, but I saw her just glow with pride when she was watching you, Alexa, sing or dance or play the flute! Being around her was always beautiful! Her smile was one that warmed everyone around her and was contagious!
Jerry, the love you two share was obvious to anyone around you both!
Anyone who ever met her or had her in their life for even a second, is truly a better person because she was there!! I am so glad she was in my life, even though it was only a brief time!
