Charles Stiles Obituary
91, of Great Bend, PA entered into rest on July 23, 2013. He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Anna, in 2010. He is also predeceased by his son, Robert Stiles and a brother, George Stiles. Fred is survived by two sons, Ronald and Lynn Stiles and Jim and Karen Stiles; three grandchildren, Michelle and Rob Montague, David Stiles and Malena, and Kate Stiles; one great grandchild, Bella Montague; a sister-in-law, Rita Lacey; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Fred was a proud veteran, serving with the US Army, Company B 157th Combat Engineers during World War II. He was a lifetime member of both the Musa Stiles V.F.W. Post #6223 and the American Legion Post #357. He was employed as a sheet metal fabricator or "tin knocker," finishing off his career with Singer Link. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his vegetable garden, full of tomatoes and garlic. Fred was a faithful member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church and at 10:00 a.m. at the Tuttle-Yeisley Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will be made in Woodlawn Cemetery, Great Bend, PA. Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to Great Bend/Hallstead Volunteer Ambulance Service, Inc., P.O. Box 793, Great Bend, PA 18821 or to Woodlawn Cemetery Association, c/o Beverly Tierney, 477 Randolph Road, Great Bend, PA 18821.
