Timko, John Michael

64, passed away unexpectedly from an aneurysm on Thursday, October 22, 2015. He was predeceased by his parents John and Theresa Timko. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Maureen; son Michael; cousins Susan and David Dawson, Anne and Tim Evans, Lynne and David Swaim, Mike and MaryBeth Petrasek, Chris Petrasek, Stephen Petrasek, Maria and Mike Canetto; brother and sister in laws Bill and Barbara Baxter, Dave and Julie Baxter, Kathy and Al Beckmann, Ed and Diane Baxter; numerous nieces and nephews. John graduated from Johnson City High School, BCC and Milwaukee School of Engineering. He has worked for BAE Corp, CAE, Singer-Link Flight Simulation and was currently employed at Ametek Corp. John had many special talents, some of which were the ability to read people, the capability of building anything and having an eye for seeing what wasn't right and making it right. His most special quality was the ability to love everyone unconditionally and would give the shirt off his back to anyone that needed it. John was a member of St. James Church, a long time supporter of PBS TV and radio, a concert and theatre patron, enjoyed organic gardening, outdoor landscaping and movies, especially Sci-Fi themes. Prayers Services will be offered on Wednesday, at 9:00AM at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc., 428 Main St, Johnson City with the Funeral Mass at 9:30AM at the St. James Church, 155 Main St, Johnson City. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 4-7PM at the Barber Memorial Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a fund set up for Michael's education at M&T Bank, c/o Maureen Timko, 1250 Upper Front St, Binghamton, NY 13901.

It´s coming up on 8 years this Sunday when John, aka my Wildman, made an early trip to heaven. Hard to believe that much time has passed! Our Michael is now 18, graduated from Binghamton High School, and he´s attending college full time at what is now called SUNY Broome. He´s currently planning to pursue a career in law enforcement. I´m sure from John´s perspective in heaven that he´s proud of Michael too! What keeps me moving forward is knowing John´s spirit, while in heaven, is also here and hasn´t left my side. I can´t explain that any further other than knowing it´s true. Often I feel his positive energy around me, encouraging me when daily challenges become somewhat overwhelming. I´m doing my best to move forward, but there´s no doubt that the love John and I share still exists. Thanks, Wildman, for choosing to never being far away from us!

We've survived just over a year since John's passing. I miss his big smile and the warm hugs & kisses that started and ended each day together. Our son is now four inches taller, eleven years old, and he's becoming a wonderful young man! Michael has John's easy-going social skills and can make me laugh every day. I know John is in heaven, and yet his positive spirit has not left my side. i can't see him but I feel his energy around me all the time. John's unconditional love and his faith in me keeps us moving forward. I will love him forever!

My faith is being challenged like never before. However, I want to set the right example for our beautiful ten-year-old son Michael, our Guatemalan angel! He is my reason for moving forward, and John would want that. God is helping us get thru this, but it's very difficult. Michael and I wish to thank everyone for your prayers and support.
