Anton Pari
of Vestal
Anton Pari, 82, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2006 at Lourdes Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-eight years, Denise; two stepsons, Abraham Pearson, Syracuse and Richard Pearson, Syracuse; three grandchildren, Peri, Lloyd and Lindsay Pearson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Phyllis Stearns, Sarasota, Fla.; sister-in-law, Barbara Stearns, Sarasota, Fla.; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Lisa and Tony Aikey, Vestal; and his special buddy, Maggie. Anton escaped the Nazis and went into the underground resistance, where he specialized in sabotage of Nazi installations. He came to the United States in 1955 and went to work for GE, Singer-Link and IBM, where he retired after thirty-three years. He loved to work on his garden and he loved dogs. His door was always open to friends and his tools were always available. He was grateful and appreciative of the support he received during his illness from his friends and the caring staff at Lourdes Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home, Inc., 71 Main Street, Binghamton. Rabbi Simeon Kolko will officiate. Burial will be in Temple Israel Cemetery, Conklin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service. Shiva will be observed at the Pari home Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Consistent with Jewish tradition, donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Temple Israel, 4733 Deerfield Place, Vestal, N.Y. 13850 or Lourdes Hospice, 169 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
