Barbara Siver West
of BinghamtonBarbara Siver West, 85, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 10, 2006, at the Susquehanna Nursing Home, having been surrounded by her loving family and friends, after battling many health problems. She has gone to join her husband and lifelong partner of 65 years, Dudey; her parents, Helen (Allen) and James Siver; Dudey's parents, Floyd and Edith West; his brother, Keith; his sister, Natalie Vosbury; a nephew, John West; and a very special young man, Stephen Mehal. She is survived by her loving daughter, Anne Kilmer, and her loving husband, Tom, who was a "son" to her; her beloved grandchildren, Kelly and William Hampton, Karry and Jerry Mullins, Kyle Kilmer and friend, Katie Sawarynski; her special great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Brian Hampton, Griffan, Mackenzie and Casey Mullins, Justin and Mallory Kilmer; her nieces, Marilyn Taggert, Susan (Ray) Osterhout, Donna (John) Rehak, and Jane West; her nephews, Robert (Naomi) West, Donald (Thelma) West, and Keith West; and all their children; as well as very special friends, Shirley and John Mehal and their daughter, Lisa, Marcia Snell, The Russell Girls, Jane Schneider, Susie DiPasquale and Barbara Williams, Pam Carter and Terri Consol. Barbara retired from Singer-Link in 1980, and managed the Lake Pleasant Golf Course for 15 years with Dudey. She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and friend to many. Throughout Barbara's life, she touched the lives of those who met her. There was something special about her that made people admire her and love her. She will be greatly missed by all.
Burial will be in Kattelville Cemetery, Friday, January 13, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barbara's memory may be made to Ross Memorial Presbyterian Church, or to the charity of one's choice. Barbara's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to those who lovingly cared for her especially Lily, during the last weeks of her illness on the third floor at Susquehanna Nursing Home. Barbara had lived at Riverview Apartments next to the nursing home for the last year and was very happy there. Arrangements by Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson Street, Binghamton.
