Carroll "Curly" Jamieson
of Port Crane, N.Y.
Carroll "Curly" Jamieson, 87, passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, July 31, 2006. He was predeceased by his wife, Dottie. He is survived by his daughter, Dale Coleman, Panama City, Fla.; brother, Neil Jamieson, Naples, Fla.; son, David Jamieson, Greene, N.Y.; his special granddaughter and friend, Cynthia Cole, Mass.; grandchildren, Timothy Cole, Fla., Donald Cole, Tenn., Sherill Speyer, Ariz., Amy Matheson, Utah, Andrew Stanley, Fla.; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters. He was a WWII Army Veteran in the 60th Infantry Regiment; he had battled in Rhineland, Normandy, Northern France and Central France. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 1194. His varied career included but was not limited to being a messenger in New York City, a roofer in California and a local machinist. Then he settled in at Link Aviation and traveled the world installing flight simulators. He retired from Link Aviation after over 25 years of service. He was also an avid gardener and musician who was always on the go. Curly was very optimistic and always brought joy to everyone he met with his quick wit and humor. He will be truly missed by many.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 10:30 a.m. at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson with Rev. Judy Wanck officiating. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing kindly consider memorial contributions to Lourdes Hospice, 169 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
