Catherine "Kitty"
(Ranieri) Szymaniak
of Conklin
Catherine "Kitty" (Ranieri) Szymaniak, 77, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday October 3, 2006, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Szymaniak, and her parents, Salvatore and Grace Berretta; and her brother, Reno Berretta. She is survived by her children, Angelo and Dawn Ranieri, Denise and Samuel Mastronardi, Cathy and Robert Parke, all of Binghamton; grandchildren, Shannon (Shanni) and Jason LaBarre, Angelo Ranieri Jr., Samantha and Keith Wilcox, Matthew Mastronardi, Timothy Parke and Emily Parke, all of Binghamton; one sister and brother-in-law, Sally and Jerry Kane, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Alice Berretta, Johnson City, and Jessie May Allen, Horesheads; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews; a special "sister", Trudy Sigman, Florida; also many friends including her special dinner group. Kitty was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and its Altar-Rosary Society, and was a volunteer at St. Mary's for the bereavement luncheons, the church bazaar and other functions. She was a member of the Sons of Italy, Stella D'Argenta Lodge #1916, and the Greenman Senior Citizens Center where she volunteered and took doll making, ceramic and other craft classes. She loved taking her vacations to Florida and to Disney World with her sister. Most of all she loved and enjoyed being with her family.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 7, 2006, at 8:45 a.m. at the James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, N.Y. and will continue at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco & Son Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial contributions in Kitty's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
