Earl Tiffany Obituary

Tiffany, Earl Leonard

Earl Leonard Tiffany, 89 of Binghamton slipped away peacefully on December 16, 2012. He was predeceased in July 2012 by his wife of 69 years, Alta Mae Tiffany. He is survived by his son, Earl William Tiffany (Cheryl); two daughters, Donna Michaels and Linda Tiffany; and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Earl and Mae began their early life dairy farming in Harford, PA before moving to Binghamton in 1955. Earl worked as a guard for decades at Ansco/GAF and, after retiring from there, worked as a guard at Singer Link until he was 78. Earl graduated Val Dictorian of his high school class in Harford and had earned a full agricultural scholarship to Penn State. He loved God, golf, gardening and a good joke. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, the bounty of his huge garden, and his generosity in sharing that bounty with neighbors and friends. Earl and Alta Mae blessed their children with strong work ethics, fine sense of humor and love of God. Earl and Alta will be greatly missed by all who knew them.

Linda, Bill.....sorry to read of your dad's passing. We always had a good time working together at the Vestal Ozalid facility. He always had a fiesty wonderful sense of humor, and gave it to Linda. He taught his children well, and made many people smile. RIP Earl.

Thank you for signing my dad's guest book. I am filled with gratitude that there are friends who remember him fondly and care enough to let us know. I know he made many people laugh in his lifetime. He was just as funny and bright in his eighties as he was as a young man. Thank you for your condolences. Linda Tiffany

I am saddened to learn of the passing of Earl. I knew Earl when he worked in the paint shop at Ozalid. We had many great conversations and he had good advice to share.

I got to know Earl as we worked together as Security guards at GAF. We golfed a little and we went to the BC open together one year. I did buy a car from Earl also. He was a good man, and will never be forgotten.

I will truly miss my father in law and his dry wit and welcoming way. He always planted plum tomatoes in his beautiful garden just for me. He passed down to his son many good virtues, like hard work, honesty, and humor and I have had 35 years enjoying both of these men. Rest in peace Dad.
